How far ahead should we book event staff in Chicago?

We suggest booking two to four weeks before your event. For large conventions, multi-day trade shows, and the busy November–December holiday season, aim for four to six weeks. Last-minute need? Reach out — we fill short-notice requests whenever possible.

Is there a minimum shift length or team size?

Each staff member is booked for at least 5 hours per shift. There’s no minimum team size — we can staff a single bartender for a client dinner or more than 100 people for a convention.

Can your staff wear our company apparel?

Yes. Just send your branded shirts, jackets or accessories to us or to the venue before the event. If you don’t have apparel, we’ll match your dress code, from classic all-black to cocktail attire.

Are your staff W-2 employees?

Yes — every Julia Valler team member is a W-2 employee of our agency, not a freelancer or independent contractor. We handle all payroll and taxes.

What happens if someone can’t make their shift?

We confirm all shifts ahead of time and keep backup staff on call. If someone can’t make it, we dispatch a vetted replacement — usually before you’re even aware — and your on-site team lead handles any changes.

How much does corporate event staffing in Chicago cost?

Rates generally range from $37 to $55 per hour per staff member. Your price depends on the role, venue location, shift length, event date (weekends and holidays may cost more), booking lead time, and any special requirements such as language skills or extra training.
